Sacrifice or Slaughtering
The Famous French actress Brigitte Bardot(spelling may be wrong) recently appealed the Nepalese Government to stop sacrificing millions of animals before their Goddess. Most of the Nepalese are Hindu.During Haj pilgrimage and Eid ul Azha festival Muslims sacrifice millions of animals(cows, lambs, goats, camels etc.). In Islam it is said once God asked Hazrat Ibrahim(Abraham)to sacrifice his most beloved one. He thought his son is the most beloved to him and he decided to sacrifice his only son in the name of God. When he was about to sacrifice his son God prevented him to do so.God was satisfied seeing his faith on Him. Then the God ordered Ibrahim to sacrifice a sheep. Remembering this event in every year during Eid ul Azha Muslims sacrifice millions and millions of animals. To my opinion in the name of religion both the Hindus and the Muslims brutally slaughter (which is called sacrifice) millions and millions helpless animals. I must say this is the misinterpretation of Religion. This is brutality.
Do you believe? Examination paper with tips on the back
I read in a newspaper that in a famous french university students can take for reference of the tips on the back when taking the examination. No one would copy the references, but they help to give the basic information or data to start with the examination. A good way to releave the scare, isn't it?
In memory of the day the music died Feb long but worth the read
One day in early February 1959, a 13-year-old in New Rochelle, New York, cut open the stack of newspapers he was about to deliver and read that three rock ’n’ roll stars, Buddy Holly, J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, and Ritchie Valens, had died in a plane crash in Iowa. The boy later said he felt “like someone had punched me in the face.” It was a feeling shared by many in America and around the world. Years later, in 1971, that paperboy, Don McLean, would write the song “American Pie,” which gave an enduring name to the event: the Day the Music DiedA reference to the beloved "sock hop".(Leather-soled street shoes tear up wooden basketball floors, and rubber-soled sneakers grip too much for dance moves, so dancers had to take off their shoes.)Man, I dig those rhythm 'n' bluesSome history. Before the popularity of rock and roll, music, like much else in the U. S., was highly segregated. The popular music of black performers for largely black audiences was called, first, "race music", later softened to rhythm and blues. In the early 50s, as they were exposed to it through radio personalities such as Allan Freed, white teenagers began listening, too. Starting around...
Presidential Burger Debate
I found this amusing article on About.com. It appears that people all over the world are closely watching the upcoming historic election. A famous French chef has created burgers for both candidates. The O-Burger is named for Obama, and there is a Hawaiian flair to it in recognition of his roots. John McCain's burger is based on a southwestern flavor. Although both burgers looked very tempting I don't know if I could get to like so many flavors in a burger.
Have you ever cooked anything in foil with wine mixed in with it?
There's the famous French recipe where you cook fish in foil with some white wine and garlic with butter. Have you tried it? Can you comment?

Quebec City's 400th Anniversary
In 1535, French explorer Jacques Cartier landed at the Native village of Stadacona but he did not stay. Seventy-three years later, Quebec City was founded on July 3, 1608, by the famous French explorer Samuel De Champlain.Quebec is an Algonquin word meaning where the river narrows. Unfortunately Canadian politics can put a damper on birthday celebrations. The controversy stems around the identity of the province of Quebec. For separatist French Queberers (not the entire French speaking population of Quebec), Champlain gave birth to a nation with a distinct identity. For English Canada, Quebec is just one province in the Nation of Canada. The Quebec separatist movement has been a bane of contention in Canadian politics for the last thirty some odd years.Though this celebration was hailed as an open celebration, major newspapers across Canada wanted to know if it was it a national celebration, meaning Canada wide, or a local, Quebec only Celebration? Jason Kenney Canada's secretary of state for multiculturalism and Canadian identity quoted: ""We think it's a national celebration, not just for the province of Quebec.Commemoration Quebec 1608-2008, say on...

Why Does the Giraffe have a long neck?
Giraffes have aroused the curiosity of man since earliest times. the ancient Egyptians and Greeks had a theory that giraffes were a mixture os the leopard and the camel, and they called the giraffe "a camelopard." The giraffes is the tallest of all living animals but scientist are unable to explain how it got its long neck. A famous French Zoologist, Jean Baptiste de Lamarck, had a thoery that at one time the giraffe's neck was much shorter than it is now. HE thought that the neck grew because of its habit of reaching to the tender leaves in the upper branches of trees. but scientist is general, they dont agree with de lamarck's theory. strange enough, but the truth is the giraffe has an average body like a horse. its tremodous height which may reach upto 6metre comes from its legs and neck. know what, surprisingly, the neck of giraffe has only seven vertebrates just like a human. but each vertebrae are extremely long. hence the neck og giraffes are so stiff. and thats the reason that giraffe has to spread its legs to reach for the water on ground. the giraffe eats only plants and its strange body shape and built makes them enable to have the food. its great height enables...
Celine film shooting in Hamilton
Something very exciting is about to happen in my neighborhood, in fact just two blocks from me! Chart Topping Productions Inc. of Toronto will be filming a television movie about famous French-Canadian singer, Celine Dion on April 20 and 21.This is very exciting for two reasons. First of all, the City of Hamilton has hosted a number of film shoots over the past couple of years and is quickly becoming known a the film capital of the north.Secondly, I love Celine Dion's music. She is famous for such songs as "My Heart Will Go On" featured in "The Titanic, At Last, Because You Loved Me" and her most recent hit, "I'm Alive." I have several of her CDs and listen to them often. As I'm sure you already know, this shy young girl is now a fixture in Las Vegas where she presents regular performances. I and all Canadians are so very proud of her.According to a note placed in my mailbox this morning, "Celine" is "a story about the power to dream. Raised in a musical family, Celine Dion is the youngest of 14 children. The family did not have much, but they had their music. Celine has a voice that shines above the rest. After the family pub burned down, 12-year-old Celine began...
